Study Information

The purpose of this study is to look at a drug called cytisinicline to see how effective it is at enabling people to quit smoking as compared to a placebo, which is an inactive substance. The study will last approximately 24 weeks with 19 visits to our office and one phone call.  Dosing will be an oral medication, taken 3 times per day.

Duration: Up to 7 months.

Number of visits to AMR Lexington: 19 plus 1 phone-call visit

Compensation: $100 per completed visit.



  • Age 18 years or older
  • Smoking at least 10 cigarettes/day
  • Failed to quit smoking at least once
  • Motivated to quit
  • Willing to quit 5-7 days after starting the study
  • Willing to adhere to the time and compliance requirements

If you are interested in participating in this study, please fill out the form below.  This will help us determine if you meet some of the initial criteria necessary to participate.  We will contact you within 48 hours to follow up and clarify any questions that you, or we, may have.  If it is determined that you meet all the initial criteria, you may be scheduled to come in for your screening visit.  At this visit, the study doctor and the study coordinator will determine if you meet all the criteria required to participate.  Per AMR Lexington’s privacy policy, all your personal information that we have obtained will be kept in our secure database, which can only be accessed by authorized AMR Lexington personnel, unless given your permission or except as required by law.
